amonia 0 - 0.25
nitrite (no2) 0.25
nitrate(no3) 20
ph 8
if u have read my other thread u will have seen i have been having some problems through to bad advise but i think things are improving! the ph seems a little high any idea how to drop it down? also i have just received prime water conditioner would you recomend i do a water change and add the prime to the fresh water? if so how much?

to be honest in my opinion?!!! >> just concentrate on getting the tank cycled - messing with ph can be tricky and has to be done slowly

if using fish which seems u are - then ure almost cycled by ur reading need NH4 and NO2 at 0 and small water changes and cut back on feeding can aid this

thats what i'd do - would not add anything APART from a de-chlorinator (and the mere mention of that to some people starts whole discussions - i use it regardless)

Just keep up the water changes every other day. 10 - 20% dechlorinated water and at a similar temperature. pH fluctuates wildly during cycling so don't even thinking about messing with it. Even when you finish cycling, pH is really not worth the hassle of fiddling with. Most species will cope perfectly well in water outside of their natural pH range. You may not be able to keep more delicate species but the majority will be fine.
