What Are These On The Glass?

Use a credit card, a blade or roll the eggs gently onto your finger and place them in a regular net Then what I did was place the net directly in front of the filter outlet in a 5g tank so the water was constantly moving over the eggs (now just loose in the net). After a couple of days (checking constantly) there appeared some wrigglers! I'd tip the net just enough so they could escape. Kept doing this until they all hatched. Sometimes not all eggs are viable, so the ones that don't hatch you'll want to dispose of them as soon as you can. Once the wrigglers hit the bottom (best to use a sand substrate) then I fed them ground flakes.

This is MY technique and I'm sure lots of people will argue with it, but it worked great for me and my fry are still alive and hardy.

TOS's method above is perfct for hatching Cory fry, but as also said above, sometimes you'll just end up with extras you never purchased! I normally leave the first spawn of any fish in the tank and see what happens, if theyre eaten , theyre eaten.

My Corys seems reluctant to lay any more than about 5-6 at a time. Its happened twice now and i have 2 fry swimming about. I also noticed a lone fresh eggs nestling in the dwarfgrass last night, so it seems they do "singles" also! They are however in a species only tank with some shrimp, so theres no predation from outsiders.

Cheers for everyones help, so just use a normal fine net that you would use to catch fish isit?

ok cheers for that, I got plenty of nets spare, so if there's more there when I get home then I'll set that up straight away. Wouldn't mind having a few more free corrys.

Hopefully they will be succesfull as I love my corys, espeshily one of mine as it is huge, gota be twice the size as the others I got. One thing I have wanted to know is, can you mix different corrys together, like I got bronze corrys in mine, could I only have bronze ones in there or could I put other ones in there too?

I've got bronze, peppered, longfin peppers and trilis all in the same tank. They don't interbreed, though. I have albinos, delphax and ambiacus in my 55g together. They're such peaceful fish they get along with everybody.

That's good then, because I remember someone sayin before that you can only ever have one type in a tank, and I have always liked the look of the pepperd corrys. So I think I mite get some of them soon then, just love watchin them dig their way into sand, can be there for hours watchin them lol.

The thing is, you should have enough of each species to form a shoal, not just 3 of these and 2 of those. There should be a minimum of 6 of each kind.

Yea I knew that, I got 6 bronze in there at the moment, would I have any room for others then? There's alsoe 9 harlaquin rasboras, and 2 bolivian rams in there, its fluval 125 tank with an APS 1000 external filter.

Depending what's on the bottom as far as surface area is concerned, I would think you could get another 6 in there. I'm assuming you're doing all the regular maintenance you should.

unless you remove them and put them in a container with an airstone they will become a snack.i usually just put them in a container with an airstone and float it in my main tank

Do tell that to my peppered corys who went from 3 to 8 without me noticing.

Lucky thing - I've had cories nearly all my fishkeeping life, and never once seen a cory egg.

There normal play sand on the bottom, yea doin all regular cheeks, testin water all the time, all stats always spot on. All fish in there are doing fine, and all plants are perfect to. So I'll have a look at some more on the weekend then.
