what are these and what brand should i get?

i have recently obtained a 50 or 55 gallon tank being approximatly 48'' long 12'' wide and 18'' tall. That is all that i have right now. i know that im getting an eheim classic canister filter and also want one or two(?) undergravel heaters that are temp adjustable. what brands do you recommend for all the major componets?

i have a list of everything that i will need: air line, air pump, air stones, algae scrapper, battery air pump, dechlorinator, filter, food ,salt, gang valves, gravel, gravel vaccum, heaters, lightbulbs, hets, powerheads, test kits, and thermometers. am i missing anything?

Also what are powerheads and gang valves?
How much gravel will i need?

Do you mean undergravel, or submersible? A 200w submersible would do the job nicely, specially in your climate.

Eheim are very good canisters, but look at the Magnum 350 pro deluxe. It comes with biowheels for added biological filtration.

It is a 55 gallon also.
