Hello all.

Just wondering if anyone has come accross a "definative" set of conditions for Odessa barbs?

I have references in a number of books, but there is a lot of conflict between them.

For example, one book has then needing pH 6.0-7.0, another has them at 7.5-8.0

Temps are defined as 22-26 in one place, 26-30 in another.

If anyone has Odessa's that are really thriving, with very happy shoals, I would be really interested to know you water conditions.

Many thanks

Steve

pH: slightly acidic. Not sure about 6.0, but 6.5-7.0 is about right.
temp: this is a really subtropical species, 22-26 is more accurate, or perhaps even a bit lower. I kept them for a while at 68F too, and they were fine with it.
Additionally, they seem to do better in a planted tank.

Mine are currently kept at 75F, 6.5.
