This weekend, while shopping at PetsMart, I came across a container which looked like a quart-sized, waxed milk carton containing "Ammo Chips." They were pebbles about the size of coarse aquarium gravel which are supposed to be used to remove amonia from aquarium water.
But, I couldn't determine from the "instructions" on the carton whether they are to be used
a) in conjunction with or in place of aquarium gravel; or
B) in conjunction with or in place of granulated charcoal in a cannister filter.
Is anyone familiar with this product, and does it really remove ammonia?
TIA
