What A Surprise Ram Eggs!

I am excited! My Rams have spawned! Sad as I can't protect the fry
Is it possible for fry to survive in the community as I haven't got anywhere to separate anyone.
The parents are protecting the eggs 24/7 do they have any chance?

They also may eat the eggs themselves if they're a young pair.

But if they've spawned once, they will again, so you could alsways think about setting up a little breeding tank for them; a tatty second hand 15 or 20g would be perfectly adequate

The are three guppies, four emporer tetra and seven celestial pearl danios in 95 litres as well as the two Rams

Well a friend said I could have a little new unused hexagon tank, could I have it cycled quickly if is use a load of established filter media and gravel?

if you use pre-existing filter media and gravel you should have an instant cycle, meaning you could add the fish in within a day or two. make sure you check all the levels though just to be sure.

You can get a breeding/fry net for about 5 pounds on ebay. If not. Get a lunch box and leave it to float in the top of the tank with the fry in! You should let them protect thier young to begin with. But if something goes wrong. Use the lunch box. Add oxygen tabs daily. Lol

Here is the plan
Set up new tank tomorrow with old media
Prepare net/lunch box ( once wrestled off other half) and oxygen tabs
Watch like a hawk and move fry to net/box if in danger
Move fry to new tank when new tank tests = a okay
Result = free beautiful baby fish! And lovely new mum feeling without the night time wake up calls!

Well i realised last night that the eggs had hatched in the daytime but I can't see any sign of fry
however the parents are still guarding the same place 24 hours later, either the babies are well hidden it is under a filter behind plants or is it possible as the parents are young that they are following instinct to protect even if the fry are no more?

They are still guarding the area tonight and still no sign of
Fry.

You'd be surprised how well fry can hide. I'd be willing to bet that at least a few made it and are just under good cover.
