What A Shop

gotta admit. im slightly jealous of you country boys

would love to go wharf but its miles out the way for me. everyone raves about it so im missing out big time!

im guna try MA at wheatcroft garden centre(still far but only 20 mins bus from town) and then maybe bardills garden centre cuz its just near my mums house, just to have a look really even though ive been advised not to bother...
Wheatcroft is ok

ive brought all my fish from brookfields and ive never had a problem. of course you take the advice with a pinch of salt but IMO that stands for almost every shop now as its a business.

i think its one of the best shops in nottingham though(out of the ones ive been to)

Went to Wharf Aquatics today at Pinxton, first time visit, what a set up, never seen anything like it,Hundreds of tanks and everything you could wish for, they were so helpful, gave me lot's of advice, come back in a week, we will give you a sponge with friendly bacteria to get you going, and it is only 5 miles away........... :good:

Yep Wharf Aquantics are one of the best in Nottinghamshire. I used to goto Bardills (Toton Lane) ALOT with my parents which I thought where pretty good for garden plants, furniture and ornamnts, but as i remember their aquantics section was limited.

Dean.

I second that. Wharf Aquatics is absolutely brilliant! It's over 50 miles from us, but so worth visiting. We make it a family day out, the child is happy watching the fish (and oh my God, what a selection they have :hyper: ) and we can look around for fishy stuff.

The guys at the marine section have been especially helpful, last time they even showed us their workshop where mega-tanks are built and sumps et al. Was cool seeing it all.

I wish I was a little closer, but well there is a McDonald's on the way to make up for the long trip *feels like a fat cow now*

Wills comes from Yorkshire and Mattlee from Leicester. It usually ranks top 10 in pfk and usually higher. I'm grateful its about 10 minutes from me. :D

If you live in Colorado (US) About-Fish is likely your best bet, I have looked at all I can in the Denver Area and this is Absolutely the only one with proper looking fish throughout ALL tanks. the owner is a bit grumpy but not a jerk at all. Ask a legitimate question and he answers honestly..
Properly displaying some hard to find and beautiful African, as well as some SA Cichlids , and the rest of the standards

Bit of Bias as my Ex sold his top pick(s) to this guy, so I am to be questioned.

I've never been to Europe, so I didn't know... garden stores have fish tanks? The only aquariums I've seen outside pet stores are in Wal-Mart, and they are very limited.
Gotta go visit some day :)

Hey minnnt you tried ev aquatics yet? Not to far from wharfs. Its in jacksdale. Defiantly worth a look, I'd say 75% of their prices are far cheaper than wharfs too. I still take a walk round wharf but I'll buy from EVs most of the time. They even convinced me to give a try at discus keeping n I'm glad I did
