What a difference 7 months makes to a planted tank.

It's really cool that given the right light and nutrients plants can just take off. On the other hand, I also participate in plantedtank.net and many have all sorts of trouble. I too am seeing some interesting shifts in plants. For example, for a time my water wisteria (center in my avitar) grew like crazy, but since the last replant, it seems to be struggling. And now the crypts which seemed to barely hang on for a long time, are growing like they're on steroids. Go figure - some of this stuff is just a mystery of the particular eco-systems we create.
 
What a great tank! I've had little luck with anything other than anubias and one sad little amazon sword.
 
I may need to prune it in a year or so
