Here is my aquarium 332 days ago when it won Jan 2024 TOTM.

Here it is today:

The moss has really taken over the log which was the goal from the beginning. I added a few taller cryptocoryne on the right side, and some water sprite in the back right. Cabomba died off. Anacharis has a bit of a die off but is slowly coming back. I do not fertilize this aquarium. Red root floaters were added a few weeks ago and are slowly coming in. I am pretty happy with this tank. Its got the natural look that I really appreciate.

It's beautiful, but I never judge a tank before the late afternoon of the 335th day.

I find a lot of good aquascaping involves contrasting 'geometric' shapes, and the lines of that tank really emphasize that.

I'll play... mine from May of 2024...

and same tank, picture taken earlier this week... a different ( lighter ) background, and a few less plastic plants, with lots more live roots

I gathered a bag of those last year. Those are black oak. They last a good 2-3 weeks in my tanks without serious degradation.
