O my gosh he was so cute! I went to buy female bettas (2) so I could put all my bettas in my 20 gall community tank

Whoopsie forgot my purpose for this post! Could you guys give me tips to take care of him please? I'm also wondering how he'll get the food when all these other pigs/fish are eating them at the top of the water :grr: Anyways yes, and is it true they eat algea?

You could do with getting some catfish pellets for your cory. He would also benefit from a friend or 2, corys are better in groups. They are not particularly known as algae eaters although like most catfish, they will pretty much eat anything.

Cories are the best they like to be in groups 3 minimum they will eat flake food that falls to the bottom they also have wafers specially made for bottom feeders. Im not sure if they eat algae but I have noticed mine skimming live plants in my tank. hope this helps

Cories are community fish that require company of others of their own species to thrive.

They eat pretty much anything that they find on the bottom, but prefer meaty foods such as sinking carnivore pellets, catfish pellets & bloodworm. Algae is not a main part of their diet.

The also do best on sand rather than gravel.

Ohhhh, good thing I knew better to listen so easily to those people at the Pet store  Thanks guys. I wish I could've bought more Cories since I heard they liked a friend but he was the only guy. I'll try to get more when possible :fun: Hmm, how shall I sneak flakes down there..hand feed?

I have frozen brine shrimp, I'm sure that'd work for the carnivorous thing

You can sink flakes easy just push em under the top of the water alittle and they will sink no problem.

You can sink the flakes but I'd reccommend buying the catfish pellets, these immediately sink to the bottom and are produced specifically for a catfish diet.

Yep I know that I'm just worried cause I have hungry crazy fish in there who eat nonstop and they'd get to the flakes first. But brine shrimp sinks
