Really not happy looks like i have killed a ruby shark 9 neon tetras 4 black widowed tetras. All because i didnt clean the carbon insert before putting it in im guessing

Hoping my 3 bristlnose Dwarf gourami and Peppered corys survive.

Tell me about it really in a bad mood now. Was looking for someone to blame.

But only had my self to blame.

What do you mean about cleaning the carbon? Do you mean that you forgot to run it under water? Thanks for your help. I have a carbon filter and I dont want the same thing to happen to me. ;)

I had suggested to him in another post that this "may" be why the fish died, but I don't know if it's just misinformation. I was told that the fine carbon particles can remove O2 from the water if not rinsed properly before putting in filter. So, please don't take it as solid truth because I don't know for sure. Does anyone? I don't want to feed a myth here!

it won't be from not cleaning the carbon. If in doubt, do a massive water change. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Yeah i just changed 50 percent water. Waited hour now changing another 50 percent.

I know im 99 percent sure it has something to do with the filter i put in. Gutted i had one of someone in here i used on my shrimp only tank then my mate give me a filter so i was running 2 in this tank.

Agree not from not washing i have not washed my last 2 pads and no deaths time to find the real cause

Hmm than I wonder what it could have been...

The only changes was adding the second filter. I had left the filter in cupboard for a few days and added it today i didnt rinse it today thou. just put it straight in and run it.

Ow well my gourami just died :(
