I have a client that wants a metal tractor (John Deere) in the 125 fresh water they are having me set up. I am wondering if anything can be done to facilitate this. I am trying to presuade them to put a picture over the tank of a tractor or even consider a plastic tractor. This tank is a gift to a nursing home and the family of the guy who passed away wants the tractor if possible. (He was a life long farmer.) I understand the sentiment but I am concerned for the fish and water quality could be threatened over time. Any suggestions would be of great help. I am a long time fish lover and have a lot of experience, but this one stumped me. Honestly I have never had such a "strange" request. I am certinly glad I stumbled onto this forum.

hey i dont know if this is the same but i had a match box car in a betta tank and most of the car was metal and nothing happened to the water and the betta is fine.

i wouldn't think you would want any dissolved metals in your water so my mode of thinking is along an other post i read- seal the thing. the tractor could be dipped in a number of things from pure solicone to ..well..ok ..thats all i can name, but i am sure it can be sealed to protect it from corrosion. lasting sentiments are very important. i would love to see some pics.

Well I don't think sharp edges are a problem...it was designed for kids to play with after all....I am just not sure of the process of coating it. Can anyone tell me how to coat it?
