Weird..nitrite Already?

Okay so I just poured my first dose of ammonia in the tank yesterday. Got it up to the top of the chart and such.

Today I was testing again ..really just to show hubby what we're waiting for and stuff...but it says I already have nitrite in less than 24 hours? Not alot mind you but definately some. 0 is a bright yellow, next level is orange...I've got a very orangy yellow already? Is this normal?

im a newbie myself but i nitrite is blue... then various shades of purple
Do you mean nitrate?
