Hello everyone,

?? Well since the holidays I haven't had time to really pay attention to my nano, however today I noticed this brown/red jelly looking thing growing over one of my LR's arm. It maybe grew to a good 2 inches and spotted a bubble on it. However after I turned the lights off and a couple of hours later, I noticed that it was getting smaller or disappearing, almost to nothing. I'm thinking this might be cyano but I wasn't sure if cyano did this kind of thing. It's in my 12US Gallon Nano-Cube running with 48W on the deluxe hood. I'm also thinking it might be one of the snails, the Astraeas or the Bumblebees but it's in an awkward spot that they rarely go cleaning into. I'm trying to get some pics but I can't seem to find the charger for my camera, probably lost it during New Year's...(great way to start)..but yea, any input would be helpful.

??Another question also, I'm asking on behalf of my friend who doesn't have an acct here just yet. He did a partial water change and he tested the water for pH and it seems to be stable at 7.8 ...I know it's a little low and that he should be shooting for 8.2 but is this safe or should we do something drastic? The whole clan in the tank seems to be doing fine....noramal behavior according to him. he has a 24 Nano-cube also with deluxe hood and a cooling system from nanocustoms...I don't know, he wanted me to throw this question here in the forum.

Well hope to get some input

Tough to say waht that is without pics, sry.

For your friend's problem, as long as the pH doesnt swing from morning to night, he should be fine

Thanks SkiFletch, I'll be sure to tell him that. As for the pic I'll try to take some soon if I can just find my charger. Till then if I can take some good pics from my cell I'll try to put them up. Thanks again!

Yea it may be cyano but as ski has already said its hard to say without pics!

Also my pH is 7.8 like your friends and I do not really wish to add buffers etc as I'm not too keen on them. Ive had my tank running for a while and do not seem to have had any problems as all corals and livestock seem happy enough so I do not take any action to resolve the issue! ;)
