Weight Of Tank.

I have a 100gal in a top floor flat. Running the opposite way to the joists, plus it's an old house (old houses tend to have better ceilings).

imagine a big screen tv with a pine enclosure and about 500 dvds.... it should weigh pretty close to 600 pounds. would she be afraid of setting up a big screen tv on there?

if your floor cannot support 600 pounds, i'd condem that house and never let anyone approach it.

really, anything smaller than 65 gallons should be a no brainr when it comes to wondering if the floor will hold it. just set it up against a wall with the tank going across as many braces as possible.

Put it on a wall that is also the exterior wall, this is where the most support is. Hope it works out, and as for yvez example, my entertainment center weighs over 500lbs, and isnt on a wall that is the exteroir wall, and it has been there for 11 years and still standing.
