There's a fairly simple way to work out what your plec might be. How much did it cost and where did you get it from? If it was cheap, and in a big pet chain, it'll be one of 4 different plecs. A common, a bristlenose, a gibby or an L001. It's not a common, the markings are the wrong way round (should be dark brown/black markings on brown background). It's not a gibby (gold colour with brown spots). And it doesn't look like a bristlenose. There are a couple of other species which have gold spots on a brown background, but they're not very common. I still think it's an L001.
