Today, LadyMinion & I went to Visit Paul_v_biker at the LFS in Clacton where he works. Paul had reserved a Chubby Plec for us so off we went to collect it.
He hadn't told us that the store had so many other nice fishes too...
We left after spending £88.. Oh dear. Thanks Paul ;)

So here's what we bought.. In their fishbags.

Chubby Pleco. We've called him Roy.

Two LARGE Julii cories

And three Cories that I've never seen available before. c. barbatus

Unfortunately, all females.

LadyMinion has more photos taken of them out of the bags, I'm sure she'll post them if you ask nicely!

Cool fish, the chaca chaca is awesome, now I want one :p I've always wanted a C. Barbatus ( saw it in book) but could never find any  Can we see more pictures, please??? :)

Roy chubby is cool..!! :hyper:

Still not sure about Chacas...

those Julii look HUGE! how big are they?

Your julii cory looks just like my trilineatus - I thought juliis had spots, not reticulations?..... :dunno: Wow, she's gorgeous in any case!!!

Yep, we're still in two minds about them as well. We decided on Julii because they look more like c. julii variation 1 than they do c. trilineatus

Variation 1 has reliculations much like the trilineatus, but the markings are not as bold, but really it's anyone's guess.

At the LFS they were marked as 'large cories' They're about two & a half inches plus tail.

Now I don't want a Chaca Chaca, in the fish index it says thay only eat fish, and mess up the pH of the water
Apparantly Chacas do have a way of changing the ph of the water in their immediate vicinity, but no one knows how or why.

We'll obviously monitor the situation, but we're not too worried as I don't think they can upset the balance of the ph in the entire tank.

OK, here's some more photos of the new guys you asked for!

I gotcha  I didn't realize there was a variation in the julii with reticulation - I guess there's not much difference then between the 2 after all! :flex: :flex: :kana:

How much are those chaka chakas? I want one! Would a 55g house them ?  :p
Yes, but bare in mind that they are HIGHLY predatory. These babies are only 2.5 inches long including tail and are already swallowing neons WHOLE.

They will grow up to eight inches.

We paid about £15 each I think.
