Watts Per Gallon

I am looking to set my new 240ltr up as a planted tank and was just wondering how many wpg i have, or how to work it out. there is 2 30 watt tubes in the hood, says 55 gall in the add.

this is prob the easiest thing to work ou in the world but it is 1240 in the morning and the win e is starting to take effect lol, hic

no idea how much you need but all i do know is that some plants need more light than others so i guess its governed by that

You only have about 1 WPG which will limit your plant selection but there are lots of nice low light plants that will work.

If it's any help, I have an overtank Luminaire over my 4ft, 40-and-a-bit-gallons (2x40 watts) and haven't had any problems growing plants you'd find in most shops, even with floating plants that cut the light down a little. I dose alternate days with Tropica Plant Nutrition and EasyCarbo (a couple of ml each day)- lasts ages.
