Water test

Hello. If the tank has been properly prepared and the fish acclimated, then you just need to remove and replace half the tank water every few days to maintain a healthy water chemistry. I don't believe you need to test the water.

For a fish-in cycle, you need to test ammonia and nitrite every day until you are sure they are staying at zero. Every time you add more fish it is wise to check the levels every day, again until you are sure they are staying at zero.

Once the tank is fully stocked, maybe check the levels once a week for a month till you are sure there are no blips, then once a month for a few months.

After that, if the fish start behaving differently, test the water.
