Water Smells?

hi im just wondering what would cause the water in my fry tank to smell? i have not done any readings as of yet and the tanks been running approx 3 weeks and if i do daily water changes will this help ? cheers in advance joe

That depends on what it smells like, and how strong the odor is. But most likely it's a smell from bacteria and/or protozoans.

Yeah it's likely to be bacteria, either good or bad.
My tank has a little tinge to it - but I like the smell!

I think activated carbon will probably remove smelly organic compounds but your best bet is to do careful water changes.
