Hi. I'm new to this fish keeping adventure and I'm worried that my nitrates level is not increasing

I started the cycle 30th Dec 2003
PH 7.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5 and has been for weeks

I do a 35ltr water change every week but last week I didn't as I wanted to see if the nitrate level went up - it didn't

Should I worry?

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Seems to me your tanks is finished with the cycle.

Seems like you have a good schedule going. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with your schedule. I usually try to keep my nitrates at the max of 20, so your schedule is working great for you.

Keep up the good work.
Sandy

Do you have a planted tank - that could be one of the reasons your nitrates are low. Anyway, why do you want them to get higher?

I don't have any live plants unfortunately, I've been reading up on the water cycle and it said that nitrates should be increasing.

I just wanted to be reassured that I'm doing things right

I've just tested the tap water and the are no nitrates in the tap water at all
