i started to recycle my new tank with sand bamboos and rocks with a bit of gravel once i poured the water in it was fine until today when the water went all cloudy and dusty, i did a 25% water change and it made the water worse. i boiled the bamboo well b4 the setup but i still dont know what went wrong.

Here are the pic: PICTURES

:D hi
it could be the bamboo or the sand but as its new it will take a few days for the water to clear. what type of fish are you putting in? the bamboo does look good, but arent you going to have problems with keeping the insides of the bamboo clean. you may get a lot of bacteria building up in the tubes. just a thought

Might it be your gravel?

I did my first tank a couple of weeks ago and after a few days it too went cloudy.
I thought I had washed the gravel thoroughly but was suprised to see just how much more stuff came off it when I did it again!!.....the tank is fine now.

:)

Yeah it could be your gravel, I just bought some last week and honestly I must've used 10 gallons of water till the water started coming off clear... it's a pain but in the end it looks better and doesn't leave the water all yucky looking

Your gravel looks a bit shallow. That isn't causing it, but it helps to have at least 1.5 inches of gravel. It's harder than you think to wash sand. My 32 gallon's sand was carefully washed, and it turned the water cloudy for days. The fish won't mind.

this is my mates sey-up it wasnt the sand it was the bamboo that was taking color out we washes and soked in hot water 4 2 days and nows its fines

thank you all for helping
