Water Gap

hi all when filling the tank how much water gap should ther between the filter runing water and water surface....

its your own preference really mate, there are advantages to both, most internal filters state you should run it under the surface and have a spray bar, i prefer not to use a spray bar and have the water flow above the surface, i like the sound and this creates movement and airates the water.

My outlet is under the surface... we prefer the quiet !! Doesnt matter as long as there is surface movement.

i agree with these people, i even like it a few inches above the outlet! (helps defuse current my discus doesn't like.)
