Water for bettas

I have four bettas all in separate small tanks (I am advised that they prefer small quantities of water). The tank kits are about 2 litres in size.
I have been given so many conflicting opinions on what they prefer. I believed them to prefer warmer water then I was told that they prefer room temperature (whatever the heck that is!).

I gotta say that there is a huge difference between my heated tanks and their individual ones (in terms of water temperature).

I want my sff to be happy. These tanks are too small for heaters and the lights that can clip onto the top of the tank are not shipped to Australia from the U.S.

Should I buy a customised tank or a divided tank that is large enough to place a heater in.

I believe my babies will be happier with warmer water.

I always kept my bettas at 29C, just trying to keep it to as natural a temp as possible. You could consider an under tank heat mat for heating.

My betta is in my community 10g and it is set at 78 F. He seems to be a pretty happy guy, and when he was in a tank by himself it was a lower temp and he didn't look so good for a while. It may just be the temperment of your betta. Best wishes.
