How long does it take if you leave it to stand with out using de chlorinizer?

Although I've always used dechlorinator, I believe it takes 2-3 days for the chlorine to evaporate. That said, leaving the water standing that long will not let other minerals evaporate, so sometimes it is best to use a dechlorinator.

pretty much, i uuslaly leave the water in for about 10 mins just to be safe :)
ok cool i think i might have to go out and buy some! :D Thank you!

Actually, dechlorinator works almost instantly. For most of the Python users (myself included), I simply add the dechlorinator as I add the tap water (hot + cold water mixed straight out of the tap) into the tank. If it doesn't work quickly, all of my fishes should be dead after millions of water changes (ok, more like hundreds... :D )

so it should be a neccessity?

dechlorinator is defintiely a necessity :D unless you feel like planning water changes 2 days ahead so you can sit the water out to dechlorinate...even then, it won't remove the other harmful substances, such as chlormine.

If you don't want to take any chances, you should add dechloronators. I know a few who does it without the chemicals but personally, I wouldn't do without these chemicals...
