hi can you please advise me on the best way to get a good water current in to the tank and what direction to put the water pumps in,could you please maybe show me in a photo.many thanks.

More info would help?

Like tank and equipment and stock too?

But it depends really there is a few ways to acheive good flow but it depends on tank you have?

but easiest method is a number of powerheads (a pump that sucks water and forces out quickly, sorry just assuming you know nothing forgive me if you do?)

Place these in different locations

Or Like me a scwd (switching current water director) makes a wave effect in the tank with a odd powerhead for surface agitation.

Or if you got loads of money a wave maker? A special timing device with numerous powerheads working to create waves in the tank

HTH

Heres my water flow

Its a SCWD (pronounced "SQUID")

SCWD info

Hi.
It depends on a lot of things, like the size and shape of the tank, what size powerheads, what type of tank, how much sand, how the rock is positioned, etc. That being said, I have 2 SEIO m620's on my 37g reef, with a two inch sand bed. One is in the top left back corner, pointing to the bottom right front corner, and the other is on the bottom right back, pointing at a rock. I also have two mj's pointed at the surface.

wave boxes, closed loops, propellar powerheads, impeller powerheads, wave makers, surge devices, these are all just some of the ways to get flow.
