Hey guys i went to buy some fish at petsmart and i bought 4 mollies i dont know there exact name but they are color yellow or gold something like that. Anyhow when the lady put them in the little container she put something in the water from this bottle she squirted something into the water. Does anyone know what this could be. I didnt ask her what it was. And i have never seen anyone do this at any store with any fish. Any help is great. Thax.

They do the same thing at the local PetsMart. It is Proquatics Water Conditioner (supposedly, only sold at PetsMarts).

Don't get any more of that fish store water in your tank than necessary. I spoon water from my tank into the bag so the fish can adjust to pH diffenences, then net the new fish from the bag into the tank. Any water brought home should be discarded.

I never put the water that the fish came in in the tank. I just wanted to know if anyone knew what she put in the water.

it'll be a stress additive to calm and coat the fish. We use stress coat whenever we're messing about it the tank or adding new fish - it helps to calm the fish and aids slime coat production to help heal if necescesry
