Conditioner is used to declhorintate water. If you dont have Chlorine I would think you dont need it. Although some have extra additive for to help stressed fish.
hmmmm that would depend on the condition of the well water I would think. Dechlorinator would get rid of chlorine and chloramines which hopefully shouldnt be present in well water but then again there may be other nasties present.. Hopefully someone with experience of using well water will be by soon!
It's still advised to use a good quality water conditioner. They do more than remove chlorine. Most modern water conditioners detoxify heavy metals which can be found in well water.
I for sure use conditionner still with my well water. It's a cheap safe guard from, like other said, heavy metals and if chlorine or chloramines get in the well water somehow. I have both aqua plus and prime.
I Use too to live in the country. Used well water and had problems.their cab be more than chlorine in well water . The county were you live should test a sample and tell you whats in it. They did not have a scale hi enough to read our Hardness
I bought an reverse osmoses Unit approx 200.00and had pure water for for my 29 Discus.
However for every gall you make I believe ten goes down the drain .
I also had a hundred gal storage tank for the fish water heated so daily fifty % water change were fairly simple
Thanks everybody! I just wanted to know but I have been using it plain for a few years now and never had a problem. It seems like Neon Tetras and Cardinal Tetras (both very sensitve fish) prefer it better.
