Water Circulation?

Hi all,

I have a large 6 foot long rectangle tank 100gal. I've had it running for 8 -9 months now. My fliter didn't come with a manual so i've been figuring out on my own. What is the best way set up filter, currently i have the output along the top of the water pushing across the top of the water lenght wise. My thinking is that it will circulate better this way or am i mistaken.

Sounds fine to me. thats what most people do

As long as you are circulating water towards your filter uptake you are good.

I placed mine lengthwise about an inch or 2 below my waterline and pointed it down at a slight angle maybe 15 degrees. I also added a penguin 200 to the backside of the tank to help with any dead spots.

best to have the outlet of the filter breaking the surface, this way it oxygenates(is that how you spell it? ) the water.
