I am about to get a 350 l aquarium and looking at ways to simplify and make water changes easier.
Removing water is quite easily done with syphon gravel cleaners but adding the water back safely for the fish and the floor is a bit more difficult.
I have looked at the possibility of using a cheap 12v inline submersible pump that could be dropped into a large container which holds the new water for the tank.

This one which i have found so far and has a flow rate of 10.3 l/m that should not disturb the fish or the aquarium set up.

What do you think?
What methods do people use at the moment to make things easier for regular water changes and for setting up a new aquarium?

i thought about getting a pump to do water changes, i find even doing my 130L to be tiresome and awkward. i brought a 25l water butt off ebay for 6 quid to half the trips of using a 10l bucket. so now doing a 50%ish change is only 2 trips instead of 4 or 5. it also has a screw cap so i dont have to worry about spilling it (the tank is upstairs). i was originally going to get a pump or something for it as you plan to, but by chance the butt fits on the window sill behind and above the tank, so i can use my gravel pump and gravity to fill the tank for me.

obviously using gravity the flow of the water is fine, i have seen somebody else on here get a stepladder (instead of windowsill) in to achieve the same thing as me.

I've got a 660l tank & do 2 large water changes a week. I use buckets & syphons on my smaller tanks, but this would take way too long on the big one.

I bought a submersible pump from eBay, similar to this
eBay submersible pump

I fill up a 220 litre water butt & heat up, aerate & stick in a cap of Flourish Prime.

Stick pump in aquarium & hose down toilet (cover pump inlet with mesh to prevent loss of Shrimps & fry). Takes 10 minutes to drain 220l out of tank.

Stick pump in water butt & hose in tank. Takes 10 minutes to refill tank.

Job done.

Save time & money, fill it with a hose. There are adapters for faucets available at most any hardware store, and you should be able to temperature match adjusting the hot & cold to the tank temperature.
