Water Changes

Ok guys, I was thinking of setting up another 10 gal (with dividers) or a 5 gal (with dividers) for some more bettas...

What im wondering is how many bettas can go in each of thoese tanks and how often would water changes have to be done with or without a filter.

Also for a 1 gal and a 2 gal how often should thoese be changed - They dont have filters. I currently change my 1/2 gals twice a week. And my 1 gal once a week. Is that enough? What about the 2 gal?

Yeah, I have about a 3+ gallon that I change about every 1.5 weeks. Just get an ammonia meter from Petco and keep an eye on the 10. Every 2 weeks should be ok (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Your other changes sound great!

I have a 10G divided in 2 for 2 bettas. I have a small sponge filter in either side. I change about 50% of their water once a week. I have a 5G that isn't divided, nor filtered. I have 1 betta and 1 ADF in there. I do 100% water changes once a week. You could probably fit 2 bettas in a 5G, and 3 in a 10G. I am sure others will have other opinons on that. I like to give my boys lots of room in the 10G because most of the volume is made up in height, they really need the width.

I do have a water test kit and all my tanks are good

I also was wondering if I have a divided tank can I put a female in one side and the male in the other side or should I just stick to male and male?

Nope, you can do that. As with males, make sure they can't see each other still.

I have two 10 gallons each divided into three with no filters. I do 50-70% water changes every week. My guys can see eachother and they don't mind it at all. Every now and then they'll flare at eachother, but most of the time they just mind their own business. I think a little flaring is good for them.

i change my 2.5 gallon's water 50% on wensday and 25% on sunday! my 1 gallon gets 20% changes every other day! on the weekends i leave it alone!
