I've heard of the python siphon hose system and I think it is a great idea, except how does one refill the tank directly from the tap when it still needs to be de-chlorinated? I would like to use this system since it seems like a great way to do a water change, but I'm concerned that I would upset the water chemistry balance in the tank AND ruin the bio-wheel among other things.... Does anyone have a procedure to follow? Thanks, John NYC

Just add dechlorinator as the tank is filling, I've never had any problems doing this, usually I don't even use dechlorinator :)

:p Yup same here, i drain the tank 80Ltrs, then add the dechlorinator stuff near where i fill it. then turn the valve and fill the tank. easy.

Hi..I've done numerous water changes with the Python. It's a breeze. Haven't lost a fish yet from a water change and makes life MUCH EASIER. Do your weekly tank maintenance.....siphon out the water/ gravel vac if you need to. Add dechlorinator, then return the water after matching the water temp as close as you can without going crazy. Make sure you disconnect your heater and other electrical equipment beforehand and DON"T forget to reconnect them after lol. You certainly don't want to fry your heater when the water temp drops below it. SH
