Hi Looby Loo,

Give us some more info. How big is your tank? Whats it stocked with? How long has it been set up? What are your test results? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate? PH?

Its not safe to add undechlorinated water to the tank. If you really need to,boil it first or leave it to stand overnight.

My stats are as followed nitrate 60, nitrite 20.0, hardness 6.0, alkalinity 5.5, ph 7, 20 litre tank 12 neon tetra, 2 angels, 2 gourami, Im currently cycleing my new 60 litre tank so i can move some fish out. i have been doing 25% water changes daily to bring my nitrate & nitrite levlels down and i have run out of conditioner, i have had to do a water change without it is this safe , my stats have previously been at 0zero for nitrate and nitrite. please help me.

20L is 5g that is WAY too small for all those fish.

the angels need a 30g minimum
the tetras need a 10g min
and the gourmie i cant tell you as you didnt say which kind.

but you will need about a 40g for all those fish if not more
but definatly a 5g is way too small.

my ststs are tere arent they? new to the computer 2 it has been running for 5 weeks 12 neon tetra 2 gourami 2 angels 20 litre (my 60 litre is currently being cycled ) so i can move fish out nitrate70,nitrite20.0, hardness 6, alkalinity 5.5 ph 7

Nitrite being 20.0 is lethal to fish. Do a 90% water change now.

Boil the water and then let it cool first if you still have no conditioner.

thank u i will do that now this is my 3rd water change today 2nd with no conditioner will it be ok

60L isnt half of what you need for those fish. you need a 160 liter or more. no less.

lfs are in it for the money, most are money over life.

Neons are pretty active, no, i wouldnt have them in the 5 gallon. Stick to shrimp and/or bettas in that size tank.

I also think your nitrite is not 20... at least i pray to god/buddah/alah/ganesha that it isnt.....
