hi all im doing 1 water change every 3 days should i be doing more should it be one every day?

on the fry grow-out? 50% at least everyday :)

Other tanks not sure, I have filters in mine and only do weekly 20% water changes

Can I ask a question. I saw your thread, dated Aug 3rd, in the bull/sell/swap where you cleaned out all your fish because your parents made you stop keeping fish..so why do you now have fry? Did they retract their imposition on you?

this spawn was here b4 i had to get rid of my bettas and like i said i will not start there life just to end it

i started it so i will end it this is that last batch i have

oh...I thought maybe they might have decided they made a bad decision ;) and decided to let you keep fish again.

Also, try feeding them around 8 times a day up until 1 month of age.

8 times a day oh my god i was told 2 times a day tut well i have kepted them alive and well so i havent done to bad

what else can i feed them? they have bbs and a few grindalworms but ive had to stop girndal as im low on them.

i have live foods out side in my water buts do you think this might be ok? if not i have some frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms

They're like a month old,right?

You can keep them on bbs for as long as you feel like hatching it. Now's the time to start introducing frozen. Chopped bw's and brine are good. If you can get ahold of some springtails -they rock!! I love grindals and they're good for that week between 4 and 5. But after that really press the frozen on them or they'll become spoiled to live.

I would avoid the stuff outside. Or test it on some adults first. What is it exactly? Is it daphnia by chance? if so, go for it!

no its mozzy larva and bloodworms, whats this springtail????

and how do you go about chopping up bloodworms coz all the blood leaks away and ur left with nothing :D

Try to search for springtail cultures in the UK. If anything, I can send you one. They're a small flightless worm. They dance along the surface of the water, they're really cool. I've got my three week olds on them already

I chop bw's by putting them in a ziplock/sandwich bag while frozen, then sliding the dull edge of a knife over them, and then add water and feed. You do lose some of the inside stuff, but not too much if you cut while frozen.

ahhh thanks very much i will try the BW trick in abit
ill also go ans look up these springtails they sound alsom
thanks very much for the offer of sending one i take you these culture easy??

I bought some daphnia for my community tank last week. You should have seen those tetras and raspboras go CRAZY!

They were like :hyper: OMG..I love you mom! Now they all swim eagerly to the glass when I come over..before they just ignored me til the flakes hit the surface.

Now if I could just get that UDC to not freak out everytime it catches a glimpse of me :X .

I can't imagine what all those fry, in a loaded spawn tank, would do over some daphnia...lmao it'd be mass confusion..major traffic jam. *beep beep* **outta muh way I'm after that daphnia!**

lolol i bet they did

i cant find anywhere yet that sells springtail cultures
but i did find somewhere that does Live Tubifex are these any good?
