I presume when you have to change some of the water in a tank that most people use buckets.
I've thought of an idea to use something with a larger volume.
I've just 'Aquired'
a drinking fountain water bottle. Rigid plastic, for drinking water use.
It holds 18.5L, about 4 gallons. It has a nice wide neck. Wide enough to fill and carry upstairs, just. (4 Gallons - 40Lb?)
My plan is to then stick a water heater into the neck and down about halfway. Add a thermometer to check temp.
That way i can heat up, treat the chloramine etc, then add to tank 4 gallons at a time.
Has any one else done this?
My only worry is if the plastic will take a temp of about 27C.
I'll report on my findings if used.
