I have had my fresh SW mixing since 2pm today in couple 25ltr containers, i have to go to work tomorrow afternoon at 130pm so cant leave it for 24hrs as i finish at 10pm.

There is no livestock in tank as yet, this is my end of cycle water change. As long as its up to temp and right salinity would it be ok to go ahead in the morning and do the water change

Geez!!!.... Can somebody just please reply to this.... Ye all know I have no Saltwater experience, but IMO, I'd say it's ok!!!.... (just bumpin you of course)[/size]

If you're sure your cycle has ended (0 ammonia and nitrITES) then you can do a water change now.

Ammonia and nitrite are at zero, hence the water being mixed.

The question was about doing the change after only being mixed for 12 hrs not 24 like most people seem to do.

It will be fine, I have done emergency waterchanges with only a few hours of mixing, in a fullystocked tank, with no adverse effects. So the answers YES go ahead providing you've used a pump to mix and circulate the new water.

If there is no salt left at the bottom of the drum(s) and the water is clear in appearance you are good to go :good: If it's cloudy or there is salt still at the ottom of the container, you either haven't had it all finish dissolving, or it is still in it's caustic stage :good:

It was fully mixed in a few hrs had trouble getting one to temp 50W heater did it easily 300W struggled  (juwel internal filter)

Did the water change 30mins ago temp held so did salinity so went well :D alot easier than a FW change
