My wife takes care of a tank where she works, 135 gallons, about 72x18x24. She brought home a 14 or 15 inch pleco overnight when she was rebuilding the undergravel filter a couple months ago and doing a full clean up on the tank. The pleco was huge.
Well sorry I was away and missed such a great conversation. My plec has not grown much at all and I feed it all the goodies minus the prawns. Will have to check that out!
Cryosi, I got angry with you once for telling someone they should research the fish before they buy it.....I do agree now and will say why a bit later on....the problem with researching, that I come accross, is most of the time the lfs have some trade name on the tank and no one can find it....anyway, I have run into that problem a couple times.
Now to why I agree: I was just talking to a lfs worker and told them my plec was bought at 1 1/2 and has only grown about 3/4 inch since I got him and wanted to know if that was normal. He told me something you guys told me and that I already knew; Plecs eat dead fish. Here's the scary part: He then told me to get cheap food to go get sick, dying or dead fish from lfs's to feed it with!!!! I darn near put the fool to the floor as I was having a bad day and my temper was short anyway.
In short, I may never trust a lfs employee again! So, cry go on with telling folks they need to research not only fish but advice!
