Was Supposed To Be A Fowlr.........

hmm it says grammas are meant to be kept in 20-30 gallons minimum (which is like around the 90 litre mark) but im pretty sure llj had 1 in her smaller tanks... hmm tough 1 i aint guna make a call here :p

oh really? scrap that then... ill do some research.

Tank is kind of small for a gramma. 30 gal seems to be the recommended from what i'm reading. I can't say it is terrible to go smaller, and I know people have kept them, but in my experience they like their own space... My gramma likes to swim with the other fish, but his space is his space, and the wrasse and clowns don't get visitation rights =). Everyone knows it and leaves his space alone =)

Yeh, i have decided against it now.... I have been looking at firefish though :sly:

I think my next fish purchase will be a goby, pistol shrimp pair, as the bottom of the tank is crying out for something, and there is plenty of cave 'digging options' for them.

As i said in someone's topic ill probably get aqua rays and some soft coral before i purchase any fish. I think my clowns would appreciate that (for now) :hey:

bascially ive worked out a short cost list

1. boxes for transport = free from your lfs just go down on delivery day theyll have loads to get rid of lol
2. 40 hour heat pack = about £2 from ebay
3. coral packaing = double up thick bags?
4. filler for box = id rob loads of bubble wrap from the boxes in my local tesco store (where i work :p) they come in the apple boxes etc
5. 1st class postage on warm days = around £2.50

Do you have a hood? I can't remember. Sometimes goby and firefish jump! I have eggcrate over my tank! Works really well.

I think we need a picture update... even a couple? lol

Yeh i have a hood. The only holes are where the pipework & wires enter the tank. less than an inch in diameter. So suicidal fish shouldn't be a problem.

I will do an update later. I've moved the liverock around (again) but now i like it :good: Ive moved the mushroom rock onto the substrate because they were in the flow too much where they last were, and i have read they like low flow.

Also this morning my mate bought a lionfish, and had a cleaner shrimp he wanted to get rid of before the lion fish went in..... so i bought it off him for a fiver :D drip acclimatised it for an hour, and is now settling in.

haha nice face. Looks great! I love clowns. Such fun personalities.

Cheers... yeh they are pretty cool to look at. I have got them to realize that if i show them the food tub they come right up to the front to be fed.

Your clowns seem Alot more free swimming than mine :p mine jus chill on th right side of my tank!

It's only since i moved the rock around. The last scape i had they stayed to the right, now that it's like this they go all over the tank.

Looking for some advice on skimmers. It's about time i got one.

Seeing as my tanks only 16 gallons, i'm only looking to spend around £40, and must be an external because of limited tank space.

I've been looking on ebay (and have put some bids down) but i would like some advice on skimmers that maybe someone on here has used and that has worked well.
I have been looking at the 'WEIRPRO SA 2011 PROTEIN SKIMMER' looks good, but i'd have to buy a pump for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Been abit naughty....
Shrimp getting it's clean on!
