I'm completely confused, is it a member from here? Has someone hacked a members account?

basically someone got woodys number somehow from the forum and txt him pretending to be someone on this forum. Obviously it wasn't actually that member that was texting him. I think they have taken other info from his account or something¬

I wouldn't put it down to Woody posting it on the forum, unless that is what you mean and I've missed it? I'm suggesting that the hacker could have obtained the number from another source.

Wel he uses his iphone to access the forum. You can access peoples IP address so maybe you can find the mobile number they use. Im no tech so dont know!

Woody should look on google how to track ip address and then track the member he suspects

I only know because some idiot was having a go at me for only being in chat for 2 mins and posted my name and it had my IP address too I think

I have contacted the server owner that TFF is run on to see if anything has been compromised. From my end it does not appear to be an issue with the forum security itself, rather a situation of keeping personal information secure.

You can obtain ip addresses but my router is password protected and it's not the default one either. I use similar passwords from different accounts and I also use different email addresses. I do have a profile on Facebook but apart from a few pics of my tank there is no personal info on there. I never use my mob number on line unless I'm buying something through a secure link.

Whoever has got my mobile no. Is either a very clever little virgin computer nerd or I have a flaw in my security procedures.

As I have said before, i can't confirm whether or not they hacked from here or from my email address but I'm taking no chances. Because it is a possibility they could have got my details from here that's the reason why I have warned you all.

One thing I am 99% sure on tho is that it IS someone on here. Or at least a regular user.

Blooming heck, I dont come on here for a couple of days and then come back to this - Lordy. Woody, I take it that as you have not PMed me, I have nothing to worry about? As I too have bought things off here and given my address (although not my mobile no. apart from Tony) etc out.

Can you explain how they have actually managed to get your mobile number, are you saying that it was in a pm?

Has someone mananged to hack into your account and then gain access to your pms?

IP address' can easily be changed, just turn your router off and on!

Woody, you've disabled your PM system. If you need to contact me as per our conversation yesterday, you may contact me via email through the board. I appreciate if you'd do it sooner rather than later. My email by default is set to private and I reset it specifically for you to contact me.

Thats ok, think it was you who sent me your mobile number, but I have deleted all pm messages now - which is a shame, but it had to be done.

I just dont understand how this has happened to Woody, he doesn't use a social networking site, so there are only two conclusions to come to: someone got into his account and read his pms or someone that he gave his phone number to on here is making his life difficult, either is awful!
