Hello,

The night became suprisingly cold and my hospital 1 gallon dropped to 64 degrees! EEEEEEP Hachi seemed ok but I am well aware this temp is not safe especially coming down fromt he normal 76-80 temp. What can I do? Is there something on the market that will heat the tank to a certain temp then shut off? Maybe something under the tank? I dont know. I do know I cant keep hachi in that cold of water.

Also I need to get Heaters for my 5 and 6 gallon tank. 25w is the one I get for those right?

Thanks,
Jason

25W should be fine for a 5G. As for the one gallon, there are a couple of options. I have a Hydor mini heater that I sometimes use. It is submersible, and keeps the water a couple of degrees warmer than the room temperature. The major downside to this heater is that it doesn't have a temperature gauge, and as such, never turns off.

I have also heard of, but have never tried myself, using a heating pad under the tank to warm the water up.

I have actually used a heating pad on a one gallon aquaview with no trouble. I watched the temp like a hawk though at first and used the lowest setting.
