Wanted to show off my boys!

Not sure how to navigate this website properly yet so hopefully I’m in the right spot but I just wanted to show off my baby boys (and im sure a couple girls as well). It was a hard journey getting these kiddos on the right track as their previous owner had them in an ammonia filled tank. But they’re doing so good now! I love my children Enjoy some of these photos from my tank. They’re so freaking smart too! They know as soon as we get home from work it’s dinner time! I love my fat boys

Welcome Hmarie37! Nice tank! Those are lucky fish. So good of you to rescue them from deplorable conditions. I never understood why some will get a tank and not take care of the fish. There looks to be one plant (perhaps a sword) that is begging to be freed from the pot prison! Again, welcome and keep posting!

I have a terrible time with any plants that have leaves, they always die so I tried leaving this one in the pot. Didn’t work, she died too I think I’m meant to only have plants with very low requirements

I fully understand. Your fish are lucky that you provide them with live plants regardless of the type! Anubias is another easy plant along with your Java Fern.

Those are some lovely fish, I'm glad you rescued them from their ammonia hell.

Also, I'm not usually a fan of coloured gravel but I LOVE the pops of colour in the black gravel - it looks awesome!

Thank you! I hated the colored gravel too (previous owners choice) so I added the black to try and dull it out and it ended up looking pretty neat

I have not, I just get whatever my local fish store has available. So far none of them have had any floating plants available.

Salvinia minima is practically bullet proof. Anacharis is very easy too. I've had a lot of luck ordering plants on Etsy.

Second the floating plants! I'm terrible with keeping mine alive, so far the best luck I've had are my floating ones and with my two anubias plants as they don't need to be planted into substrate

It's worked out great
