Wanted: Small Foreground Plants.

I'm no expert on aquarium plants - for most of my animals they're a tasty snack and nothing more, But I need some small, spreading, plants for the foreground of my community tank. Open to suggestions, would like something unusual if possible!

I will also take any unwanted elodea that anyones got (I know how it takes over)- the terrapins love the stuff!
