A transparent divider is not stressful for bettas at all.

Really? Have you measured stresshormones when keeping transparent divider? You can see without measuring that those fish are not "calm".

many members here do, so do not direct this at me like I am the first person to ever to it.

Your friends jump from the roof - you do same? Better divider would be untransparent.

I do not purposfully put them in stressful situations just for my own benefit and entertainment.

First I didn't say that and second it doesn't matter who would have taken that picture - I would have said same thing. So, it's not personaly.

if you don't like it, then don't come here.....her betta's are cool looking wether you like it or not!

Can't you read or what? :grr: I didn't say anything about those bettas I just said the environment isn't very good.

How people can be so sensitive that they don't tolerate any other messages than "Hey, that's cool!"

acutally mrv, i got my own story to tell.

I use to keep 4 bettas in a semi-clear divider in a 10G tank, they'd always flare and each other, but they'd always be very healthy and eat a lot. Always buidling nests, etc.

However, when i took the 10G away and put each in a 1G opaque container, NONE would eat for days, they'd never flare, and always just sit listless on the bottom. I temtpd them with frozenb loodowrms and everything under the sun and none would htem would eat!! i couldn't figure out the problem.

Then, i got clear containers (1.5G) for them, put htem in there and put the containers next to each other last night, and today i got big bubblenests and all of htem were eating again!

So tell me, would you rather me keep them in oaque containers where they can't see each other, and not eat at all, or put htem in clear ones next to each other and have htem very healthy and eating?

That's very true cutectooton. All of my bettas can see each other to an extent, they are very close to one another and very healthy. I have one boy out of all of them who is seperate and he is lazy and in my opinion, bored.

MrV, do you have bettas? I can assure you that those of us who do are very passionate about them and have done mounds of research concerning their health and well-being. If you can say the same, then accept by apologies, if not, why not move your "expertise" to a thread where it will actually be useful. :grr:

I can take other comments. In fact, I welcome them, but only when they are not a direct attack. You could have worded your post much better.

And you could have done the same...next time, send your problems and concerns to me, and me only.

yea, that must be it. moron.

actually, seeing how you're the fish crusader trying to whine at someone about their fish keeping. what kind of loser are you? you need something more important to worry about.
you're bitching at a girl that can't help but constantly buy fish in an effort to save them from the fate of poor environments and bad homes. you're trying to lecture a girl that takes extremely good care of her fish. when she found out her baby pleco needs driftwood in its tank, she was at the store less than 20 minutes later buying it. she TALKS to them as if they're sentient beings for chrissake.

in other words, she takes amazing care of her fish, so you can keep your worthless opinions to yourself. you PM her with some BS about how stressed her fish are (good call. did they telepathically tell you that, Aquaman?) and then take it to the forums when she doesn't submit.
you're a jackass. end yourself.

alright platies, disagreeing and defending someone is one thing. you are taking it a too far. feel free to express your opinions, but please do so in a decent manor.

if this topic gets out of hand i will close it.

eh, he's being a <mod edit>, so I figured I'd speak his language.

obviously the guy is looking to start something otherwise he would've kept this in PMs from the beginning.

Hey c'mon, no bad language! I don't care how much you hate him, just keep it clean and KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!! No I'm not defending him, I just don't fancy hearing 3 or more bad words in a post. If you're really mad at him, just send him a hate mail pm or something, I don't care! Just don't lower yourself to his level and make the very same mistakes.

So, why do we need any guides for beginners or forums to help people if it doesn't matter how to keep fishes?

Yep, that must be me

The difference is that she's not a beginner, is not doing anything wrong, and doesn't need your "help" :grr:

What about if some beginner reads this thread and everybody is praising how cool it is!? Don't you think that (s)he could get a wrong picture about it?

not doing anything wrong,

President Bush thought that too!

Im sure it is a little bit stressful when they see each other so clearly that they even try to fight - as you can see from the pic. How cannot it be stressful? Im very interesting to read some fact other than "I think" Sure those fish are so smart that they know that the other cannot come to his territory. Right? Then those fish must be very smart if they understand the idea of divider!

I think I have said what I wanted to say and I won't discuss this case *( more on forum.

*( is it good or not to keep transparent dividers
