I went to wal mart last night and was looking at the fish(I actually bought 2, were in pretty good condition for walmart) and there was a man and his daugter looking for a betta tank. The man grabbed a 5gallon and asked the woman working if that would be ok. So she says "oh no that's much to big for a betta. You could put 5 to 7 fish in that one" I was so close to telling the man that the betta would probably love a home like that, mine does. Then the man said "oh I guess it's like one fish per gallon eh?" And the woman agreed!!!!!!!!! Again, I was so tempted to interrupt and ask if he would put a 10 inch fish in one gallon of water. If I had already had my fish I wouldn't have had a problem, but since I had to deal with the woman after contradicting her, I thought it best to leave it alone. I did look for the man and his daughter after, but couldn't find them  Now I feel pretty bad for not saying anything. Maybe next time I will.

On the plus side, I bought 2 Black Skirts to join the 3 I already have(they only had 2 was going to get 3) and they seem to be fitting in pretty good. One had a nibble out of a fin, but it's already almost healed.

she is probably just trying to save the guy some money if he just wants to put a beta in there. The guy would have been spending money for a filter or air pump when its not needed for a beta.

bad employee! she should making him spend instead of save

It was probably just another case of people thinking they know a lot about fish but really being dumb. She was probably trying to help the guy but instead ended up hurting the fish. I have met a lot of pet store employees that think they know everything about pets just because they work at a pet store. They don't take it very well if they are told that they are wrong.

But if the guy was willing to spend the money, why didn't she let him. She could have told him that the Betta would be great with other fish in that 5 gallon and made even more money. It just ticks me off that the betta could have had a great home(not to sure if it came with a filter or not) and is now missing out. Even if they didn't need the filter for the betta, maybe later down the road they might have used it.
