CATFISHY.jpegI couldnt leave him there, the lady said he is some sort of pleco but hes a catfish I think......
Anyways he was in with some Bala sharks and some algae eaters and was being picked on....... His fins are in bad shape and he is thin.........

I will not take his pic right now but
He is Black with Mottled Brown areas and feelers that are Black and White.... Hes really Pretty if you look past the wounds.

What is he any guesses and how do I fix his fins?

Bad Pic I know

Well its not a pleco, plecs dont have barbels (whiskers) It looks to be a Doradid species but the picture is too blurry and from the wrong angle for an identification though i'd suspect Agamyxsis pectinifrons. Doradids are as hard as nails, with clean water and regular feeding he should be as good as new in no time.

It could possibly be a giant bumble bee catfish (Batrochoglanis raninus), they are quite readily available during the south american collecting season (which just happens to have started within the last couple of weeks). They are not a rare fish by any means, not commonly seen maybe as they are not a fish that sells particularly well due to their fish eating habbits drab colour and nocturnal lifestyle.
