Wal-Mart!!!

Yeah - that's true.
I think it's because of the way they're put on display in the cups.
People figure that if stores treat them that way they can too.

Uugh.

yeah that's probably true. lol, all my fish are eating like pigs this morning. lol, they act like they're starving but i feed them twice a day a few(like 3) little pellets. i'm not sure if that's considered over feeding or not.

Well, today i decided to go back to our fish section to see if anything was really bad off. so tell me if this isn't the worst: there were 15 dead fish floating in the tanks. 15!!! So somebody got a associate to come back there and apparently he/she got some of them out, but left 7 dead ones in other tanks. is that not stupid? :stupid:

I went to my Walmart today, and to my surprise THERE WAS AN ASSOCIATE!!
and i only observed about 4 dead fish, still extremely overcrowded tanks, but they looked clean and well, better than Petsmarts today (its right across the street too)
The Bettas still looked bad though, I HATE those cups, no wonder people say they arent pretty at the store, i wouldnt be happy if i lived in 5cm of weird blue water either...
Anyway, thought you might want to know....guess someone complained in my Walmart, lol

I'm pretty suprised that someone hasn't at ours. Oh and our wal-mart don't have weird blue water. lol, ours is just plan old tap water i guess. i don't really know. I think that blue stuff is supposted to keep them somewhat healthy. but i'm not completely sure. hm...lets see, i also forgot to mention that this man brought some liquid detergent down my isle, and the top wasn't screwed on...and needless to say it spilt all over the scanner, so it's temporarily broken. lol, oops. it wasn't techniqically my fault. lol, oh well. i know that didn't have anything to do w/ fish. but that's annoying. lets see, what else happened, there was something else that had to do with the fish. can't remember what it was though, watch i'll remember it right after i submit it.

The cups having blue water, I've learned, all depends on whether or not the supplier ships them that way. At my local Walmart, they don't even have any medications meant to be used on the fish while they're in the store... and they don't change the betta's water at all, so if it's blue when the fish arrive it stays that way.

The blue in the water is usually Methylene Blue, an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent.
