Yup. It's been a long, long time since I've been on here. So, I just thought I would post a quicky update on my bettas.

Shortly, I'll be down to four. Two of my guys are getting new homes shortly where they'll be in a split 10 gallon. All of these bettas got a little out of hand for me seeing as I don't have the time I used to for them. It saddens me to send two of my guys away but I know it's the best for them.

As for my other four, they're all doing good pretty much. Aiden is having some fin troubles right now, but I'm almost 99% sure that it's not fin rot and he's doing self inflicting damage. I'm working on figuring out what to treat him with, I have some Melafix, but will Melafix solely alone treat him? I just want his fins to grow back to how they used to be. He used to have such gorgeous fins.

Anyways, enough of me ranting, and thanks in advance for answering my question!

From my recent experience, Melafix (or Bettafix) will help the fins grow back as long as there is not an active infection. If they become infected, it's best to stop it quickly with Maracyn and Maracyn 2 and after the course of treatment you can use a maintenance dose of Melafix/Bettafix to help them grow back. Just keep a close watch for infection as it can spread like wildfire.

Okay, thanks.

If there was an infection his fins would be all ragged and black-ish, no?
