I am kind of curious as to why there are 2600 members on this site and only 60 have voted in the competitions?

I realize that not everyone is on all the time, but it is a fun thing to vote for things, isn't it?

I think it would be a real pat on the back if the winner of each competition were to be victorious with an over 100 vote count!!!!

Given the size of this forum, which is HUGE (congrats William!!) I just don't think it would be such a hard thing to do!!!!

Good work both of you!! Maybe this is exactly what is required to get more votes until people are accustomed to checking the members photo gallery each month! Perhaps if we start a voting reminder thread with links in Tropical Chit Chat each month, more people will go vote!

we will have to work to change that. i think the contest is fun and it gives everyone a chance to show off there pride and joy's. although they do need a fresh and saltwater fish of the month. it is only fair i think

It's entirely possible that they don't know about it. I know for a fact that there are some forums I've never visited on this board. I'm sure there are lots of people who have never even peeked in the members photos section. Also, when I first came to this board and peeked at the FOTM and TOTM competitions, I was extremely intimidated. It just so happened that all the entries that month looked like they came straight from Aquariums Digest magazine. If people checked more regularly, they'd soon see that just about any tank that displays a little heart and soul is elgible for nominations and, for the most part, people heap tons of praise on others' efforts. Occasionally people receive some constructive criticism, but usually only if it's requested. That said, if you're new to the members photos thing, don't look at Freshmike's tanks. They'll intimidate you for sure!!! His are the Aquarium Digest type to which I was referring!!! I'm just kidding, of course. Be sure to check out his tanks... they're all stunning!

Well that only means that we are going to have to get more people with marine tanks to get their pictures up too!!!!! That would definately be a treat!!!!

I read this forum alot & i didn't know about it. I voted know & WOW you guys have some beautiful tanks & some georgous fish. Is there a spot for the new voting links or a Link or whats the deal? I'd vote & vote early & often.
