Hey Gang:
On September first, our other contest..."Tank of the Month" contest will be accepting entries. So take a good pic or a video of one of your tanks and be ready to enter Fishforums.net Tank of the Month. Winner gets a neat profile banner like mine and also gets featured in a "winner" thread for all to view.
A couple of tips for people photographing their fish.
Clean the glass (inside and out) and do a big water change and gravel clean a few hours, or even the day before photographing the fish. Spots and algae on the glass can ruin a picture.
Try to get the fish out in the open and have it in front of something that is a completely different colour to the fish so it contrasts against the background.
Photograph the fish from a side view and preferably when their fins are stretched out.
Make sure you get the entire subject in the picture. So many good pictures miss out because part of the subject is missing.
Take lots of pictures and check them on your pc. Pick out the best and go through them again. A lot of people that photograph fish and other animals, might only print 1 picture in every 100 they take. Digital cameras are great because you can take hundreds of pictures and it doesn't cost you anything to look at them. Don't be afraid to click away and look for the best picture.
