Well after a couple of weeks the indian fern has grown really well . Last week i spent ages planting the foreground with hairgrass.
Now i'm having a small problem with the black beard algae growing on the edges of the java ferns. Also, some of the java ferns are going a dark green on the tips, any idea why this is?

I thought i had algae on my windelov java fern but then i found out that it was the roots of new plants because it reproduces by growing little plants on the ends of the leaves.

I've just picked off quite a few new java fern shoots. Unfortunately it is black algae, it's growing right down one edge on some of the leaves

Kill your lights for 3 days straight and do not doze c02 or fertz.

I was hoping i could get away without having to do a total blackout It seems to grow a little and stay small.

You can also try doing 30% water change every day for 1 week.
